“Ghost of Kyiv is a superhero legend whose texture was created by Ukrainians!” a Facebook post told the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Ukrainian air workforce said that the “Ghost of Kyiv,” a Russia-Ukraine War folklore of an ace Ukrainian pilot that achieved multiple dogfights kills, does not live.

Ghost of Kyiv is an urban legend. “Ghost of Kyiv is a superhero folklore whose feeling was formed by Ukrainians!” said the Air Force Command of Ukrainian Armed Forces in a Facebook post.

The air coercion also constrained viral internet whispers that Major Stephan Tarabalka stood the ghost of Kyiv and that he owned consumed 40 Russian aircraft. The Ukrainian government posthumously celebrated Tarabalka as a Grinder of Ukraine. The pilot stood killed inactivity on March 13.

    The ghost of misinformation

The air force precautioned to check the information bases and only use official sources. However, official Ukrainian references spread the myth of the Ghost of Kyiv earlier in the war.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry ridiculed the existence of the mythical pilot on the two days of the war, saying that “dozens of professional military pilots from captain to generals who lived formerly released from the army in reserve are producing to the air force,” and “who knows, possibly one of them and is that air vigilante in the MIG-29.”

Also, on February 25, the retired president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, transferred a picture proclaiming it to be of the Ghost of Kyiv. Nonetheless, the photo was later displayed as an older photo from 2019.

“It disturbs enemies and causes Ukrainians proud,” twittered Poroshenko. “He has 6 successes over Russian pilots! With such strong defenders, Ukraine will absolutely win!”

Poroshenko was not alone in publishing false visions of the mythical figure. Videos and doctored photographs of the Apparition of Kyiv were disseminated furiously throughout social media in the days of the war.

A youtube video featuring video frolicking flight simulator footage was shared widely as a sighting of the Ghost of Kyiv. Capitalizing on the craze of assumption about the uniqueness of the Ghost of Kyiv, Internet pranksters photoshopped a photograph of humorist Sam Hyde. They contended that he was the Phantom of Kyiv, maintaining with a long-running meme swearing Hyde is responsible for different violent possibilities. The image fooled US Republican congressman Adam Kinzinger, who wished manufactured pilot “Samuyil Hyde” to survive in the success against Russian air forces.

    Symbols of Ukrainian resistance

The Ghost of Kyiv is witnessed as both a symbol of Ukrainian defiance against Russian military aspirations and the position that statement and propaganda sport during wartime.

Also, earlier in the war, the outbreak of Snake Island and the last frame of the Ukrainian servicemen stationed there evolved into a symbol of Ukrainian resistance, the origin of the now-famous word “Russian warship, go F**k yourself.” It later informed that the helpful members had not expired in combat but had been taken captive by Russian naval powers.
