Steven H. Wright is an associate in Holland & Knight’s Boston Branch of Holland & Knight. The NBA’s Commercial Law Section recognized Wright as the first African American to win the “Outstanding Outside Counsel” award. Wright was honored for his exceptional substantive legal achievements and participation in encouraging companies’ legal departments to form professional alliances with African-American lawyers. He represents corporate executives and top lawyers in-house in commercial litigation. Many Fortune 500 companies have him as their head counsel.
Medical examiners are investigating Wright’s death. According to the lawyer firm, heart problems are responsible for Wright’s death. Others have criticized Wright’s death until it can be established what caused it. According to the company, Wright died from a heart attack while swimming. The company has not provided additional information about the incident. Wright’s passing has created a gap in corporate culture.

Theodore Silva Jr. was a former partner at Holland & Knight and has been disciplined for several ethical violations.
